The RIA-AE Network published an article about international mobility in adult education. The article highlights the significant impact of short-term European mobility activities within the Erasmus+ Programme on adult learners. Focusing on participants from Austria, Germany, Latvia, and Slovenia, the research explores how mobility experiences contribute to learning and personal development in adult education.
Based on interviews with 24 adult learners, the study shows that Erasmus+ mobility strongly promotes intercultural learning, social connections, wellbeing, independent living skills, and communication in multilingual environments.
The study fills an important research gap, as previous research has mainly focused on students and young people. It underlines the transformative role of Erasmus+ mobility in supporting lifelong learning and provides valuable insights for the future development of adult education mobility programmes.
